York Lions earn first ever field hockey national title

Lions field hockey are double-golden! After capturing the OUA banner in a 3-1 win over Toronto at Varsity Stadium, they advanced to the Field Hockey Canada U SPORTS Tournament in PEI and beat Victoria 1-0 in a rematch of the 2024 final, earning them their first-ever national title in this sport.

Interfaith panel discussion with faith leaders & students

The Vice Provost Students led an interfaith panel – an opportunity to come together, fostering learning and growth while respecting diverse religious practices. Students and faith leaders shared perspectives, backgrounds and what they turn to during hardship to support themselves/their communities.

Health and Well-being Week at the Vari Hall Kiosk

Health & Well-being and the Vari Hall Kiosk were excited to partner for Wellness Week, from Monday, October 6, to Friday, October 10, to promote sexual health. Students enjoyed the creative maze activity and fishing expedition, "What Did You Catch," to support sexual education.

SCLD is proud to announce the success of the Student Organization Services team's recent event, Clubs Welcome, held on Thursday, October 2. Clubs Welcome is a new tradition and training, with the event being held annually. Four clubs received awards for their outstanding achievements.

Student Advising Community hosts Pop-up Fairs across three campuses

In October, the advising community came together for a multi-campus Pop-up Fair. Students had the opportunity to connect with advisors at the Keele, Markham and Glendon campuses to ask questions and learn about services.

Paint & Sip with BE YU: A night of creativity and connection

BE YU’s Paint & Sip event, held in celebration of Well-being Week, brought together students for a night of art, conversation and self-care. Led by the incredibly talented Karen Welcome, the guided painting session invited everyone to create a stunning nighttime Caribbean seascape.

Launch of the Registrar's Newsletter

We recently launched the first-ever Registrar's Newsletter to current students. This quarterly email is designed to demystify the Registrar's Office, includes an avatar of the University Registrar, shares important dates/deadlines and answers FAQs!

The Eleanor Winters Art Gallery Presents: A Bump in the Night

The Eleanor Winters Art Gallery is hosting its first curated art exhibition of the year, "A Bump in the Night." This exhibit invites York's upcoming artists to imagine the eerie, unsettling and uncanny that stir us while we sleep. The exhibition will be hosted until Friday, November 14.
