Dear colleagues,

I am pleased to share that after a successful search, Keshia Gray has been appointed as the University Registrar & Assistant Vice Provost, effective January 1, 2025.

Keshia’s leadership comes at a pivotal time for York. With her deep institutional knowledge and commitment to student success, I am confident that Keshia is positioned well to lead the Office of the University Registrar and the University through the challenges and opportunities ahead.

Keshia brings a wealth of experience to this role, having held several leadership positions at York University. Recently serving as Interim Assistant Vice Provost & University Registrar, and Associate Registrar & Director, Student Recruitment & Admissions prior, Keshia’s extensive background spans across the Strategic Enrolment Management framework and offers invaluable perspectives, expertise and leadership.

Throughout her career, Keshia has earned the respect of colleagues and peers both internally and across the higher education sector. She is the Chair of the Ontario Universities Council on Admissions and previously served on the Board of the Pan Canadian Consortium on Admissions and Transfer. Her dedication to fostering institutional collaboration, improving service delivery, and leveraging data-informed strategies has consistently delivered results that prioritize the student experience and advance access to education for equity-seeking communities. I look forward to working closely with Keshia as a key member of our Division’s leadership team and as we strengthen our efforts across recruitment and student success.

I would like to share my gratitude to the hiring committee who dedicated their time to support this important selection process. Their efforts ensured that we selected a leader who has consistently demonstrated the ability to work with Faculties, understands the current and emerging needs of students, and is committed to equity.

I would also like to take this opportunity to share thanks to those who stepped in during this time of change. More information will be shared in the coming months regarding leadership transitions within the Office of the University Registrar.

Please join me in congratulating Keshia on her appointment.

Warmly,

Yvette Munro
