McCall MacBain Scholarship

The McCall MacBain Scholarships at McGill University are Canada’s first leadership-driven scholarship for master’s and professional degree students.

This scholarship application process is for students who are developing expertise in their respective fields, have a track record of taking initiative, and seek to collaborate with others to understand and address important problems and challenges.

The McCall MacBain Scholarships includes:

  • Tuition and fees for an eligible masters or professional program at McGill University;
  • Living stipend of $2,300/month during academic terms; and
  • Comprehensive enrichment program including mentorship, interdisciplinary learning, and access to a global community.

Before you begin your scholarship application, you must do some research about academic programs at McGill University to learn which program best fits your interests and goals. The more you know about what you want to study, the better your application will be.

Check the requirements for the application and review all relevant details on the McCall MacBain website.

To be eligible for the 2027 cohort, you will need to meet ONE of the following criteria

  • You are a current student on track to earn your first bachelor’s degree by August 2027
  • You earned your first bachelor’s degree in the last five years (January 2021 or later)
  • You earned your first bachelor’s degree more than five years ago, and were 30 years or younger on January 1st, 2026
  • You will also need to meet the minimum degree and language requirements for McGill's master's program admission.

It is very important for your referees to see your completed application dossier as background for drafting their letters of support. The more they know about you as a whole person, the better they will be able to support your application with a detailed letter of reference. It is strongly recommended that you prepare your application materials before your referees need to write their letters.

Please review the McCall MacBain website for deadlines and information.

Please note: We highly recommend that you begin the application process well in advance of these deadlines and we encourage you to reach out if you need any support during the process.
